IMPORTANT:
When using wide-port cabling, both cables from an MDS600 I/O module must
connect to one of the following pairs of switch ports: 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, or 7/8.
Devices and quantities
MDS600 storage enclosures: 2
MDS600 I/O modules in each MDS600: 2
BladeSystem c7000 enclosures: 1
3Gb SAS BL Switches: 2

Notes
•
As shown in this illustration, server bays
1–8 will have exclusive access to one
MDS600 enclosure and server bays 9–16
will have exclusive access to the other
MDS600 enclosure.
IMPORTANT:
Because it includes two HP 3Gb SAS BL Switches, this configuration is similar in
appearance to a dual-domain, wide-port configuration. However, because of the single I/O module
in each MDS600 drawer when using single-port SATA drives, it is for single-domain use only. The
additional switch is used in conjunction with the cabling scheme and zone group strategy to obtain
best possible performance in a single-domain configuration using single-port SATA drives.
Zoned storage—single domain, wide-port cabling, max performance with SATA drives
