Hard drives
NOTE: All hard drive spare part kits include a hard drive bracket.

Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:

. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 36 ).
Remove the hard drives:

. Position the computer with the front toward you.

. Loosen the two Phillips PM2.5×5.0 screws (1) that secure each hard drive cover to the computer.
3
. Lift the right side of the hard drive covers (2) , swing them up and to the left, and remove the covers.
The hard drive covers are included in the Plastics Kit, spare part number 438368-001.
