3.
Configure a PIM register
policy.
register-policy ipv4-acl-number
By default, no PIM register
policies exist, and all PIM register
messages are regarded legal.
4.
Configure the device to
calculate the checksum
based on the entire register
message.
register-whole-checksum
By default, the device calculates
the checksum based on the
header of a register message.
5.
Configure the register
suppression time.
register-suppression-timeout
interval
The default setting is 60 seconds.
Configuring the switchover to SPT
CAUTION:
If the device is an RP, disabling the switchover to SPT might cause multicast traffic forwarding
failures on the source-side DR. When disabling the switchover to SPT, make sure you fully
understand its impact on your network.
Both the receiver-side DR and RP can monitor the traffic rate of passing-by multicast packets and
thus trigger a switchover from RPT to SPT. The monitor function is not available on switches.
To configure the switchover to SPT:
Step

3.
Configure the RPT to SPT
switchover.
spt-switch-threshold
{
traffic-rate
|
immediacy
|
infinity
} [
group-policy
ipv4-acl-number
]
By default, the first multicast data
packet triggers the RPT to SPT
switchover.
The
traffic-rate
argument is not
supported on switches.
NOTE:
If the multicast source information is learned through MSDP, the device switches to SPT
immediately after it receives the first multicast packet, regardless of the traffic rate threshold.
