Installing Hardware Options, Server Power Off
The following instructions are provided as an overview for installing hardware option
upgrades that require the system power to be off. HP recommends that you use the
documentation provided with the hardware option for complete installation
instructions. You can also refer to the
HP ProLiant DL760 Generation 2 Server
Setup Poster
included in the shipping box or to the labels attached to the top panel of
the server.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the equipment,
the installation of options other than hot-plug power supplies and hot-plug
hard drives should be performed only by individuals who are qualified in
servicing computer equipment and are trained to deal with products capable of
producing hazardous energy levels.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hazardous energy or
damage to the equipment when working on energized servers:

Remove all watches, rings, and any other loose-fitting jewelry.
•
Avoid the use of conductive tools that could bridge live parts.
CAUTION:
Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Be sure that
you are properly grounded before beginning any installation procedure. Refer to
Appendix B for more information.
