This  subprogram  establishes  the  COM  block  necessary  for  the  other  subprograms  and 

initializes  the  system. 

Start 

Semantics 

This  sub program  m

u

st  be  executed  each  time  the  sytem  is  turned  on  and  each  time 

SCRATCH  A  or  SCRATCH  C  is  executed.  Start  sets  the  HP-lB  addresses  of  the  4 1 45 A  

and  4084A,  determines  the  available  pin  boards,  and  then  assigns  this  information  to  the 

appropriate  C O M   block  variable.  This  subprogram  also  disconnects  all  port-to-pin 

connections.  The  HP-lE  address  settings  in  this  subprogram  can  be  changed  by  the  user. 

Refer  to  paragraph  3-32.  Also,  the  COM  block  variables  can  be  used  in  user-written 

subprograms.  Refer  to  paragraph  3-46.
