A Silent Mode Installation and Uninstallation
Currently, you can perform silent installations on Windows machines only. The installation package
for HP 3PAR Policy Server is an InstallAnywhere installer. Keep in mind that if you are not using
the default port for the OpenDS directory server (389), you will need to edit the OpenDS
configuration file before starting the services. For any post-installation configuration, refer to the
HP 3PAR Policy Server Administration Guide.
To use the installer in silent mode:
1.
Log in to a supported Windows machine as an administrator, and then open a command
prompt. If you do not have the administrator account login, be sure to run the command prompt
as administrator.
2.
To generate a response file to use with this installer in silent mode, use a command similar to
the following:
HP3PARPolicyServer.exe -r c:\temp\response.properties
NOTE:
You do not have to use the "c:\temp" directory as the location of the
response.properties file. You can use any existing directory. The installer will not create a new
directory.
3.
To run the installer in silent mode, use a command similar to the following:
HP3PARPolicyServer.exe -i silent -f c:\temp\response.properties
To uninstall an existing Policy Server in silent mode:
1.
Log in to a supported Windows machine as an administrator, and then open a command
prompt. If you do not have the administrator account login, be sure to run the command prompt
as administrator.
2.
Navigate to the Uninstall directory of the current Policy Server installation, and then type the
following command:
Uninstall_HP3PARPolicyServer.exe -i silent
When the uninstall process completes, it restarts the machine automatically.
