Replacing die

Using a 4mm

hex key, unscrew the die guard set screws to remove the die guard.

2

Using a 13 mm wrench or an adjustable wrench, unscrew the die set bolt and the
die

adjust bolt to remove the die.

Replace the die guard.

Make

the

die adjust bolt and the die set bolt

aim each prescribed place. Do not secure

both the bolt excessively tight. This could

  break the die.

Be sure to place the die with the size

stamped face upward.  Otherwise, you cannot

adjust the die opening, cannot set the die and

cannot start to make a thread.

Typically the work piece is inserted into the

die from the size-stamped face.  However,

you should insert the work piece into the

C-432 from the opposite side of the size

  stamped face.

Caution

3

Place the new die in the body, with the

size-

stamped face upward and so that the die set
bolt is opposite to the cavity of the die and the
die adjust bolt is opposite to the slit in the die.

Regarding die

We have installed the die for BC1

×

24 fork in the C-421.  You cannot use the C-421 even if

installing a die other than this size, since this tool has only just BC1

×

24 sized hole on its

bottom.  When the die wears, replace it with a new genuine die.

To fork

Die set bolt

Firmly tighten the die adjust bolt and secure the die with the die set bolt.

4

When starting the threading process, first try tightening the die adjust bolt very  firm-

ly (making the slit of the die comparatively wide).  Using the tighter die initially

could over-thread the fork.
