System Test and Flow Meter Calibration
Machine Set Up:
1. Tractor off, Transmission in park or park lock on, tractor and machine on level ground.
2. Fill liquid tank with product.
3. Hook Lift/Fold hoses to tractor.
4. Hook liquid pump hoses and case drain to tractor (liquid pump hoses do not have an icon
on the plastic hose clamp).
5. Start tractor and power up monitor/machine.
6. Unfold planter, leave toolbar up and install .039 orifices into nozzles.
7. In planter configurations enter potentiometer calibration screen ( ) and set ‘use poti’ to
‘no’ (this defaults the work signal to on/turns potentiometer off, do not attempt to fold with
this set to no, every time planter is restarted this will be defaulted to yes).
8. Also in planter configurations set minimum fan speeds to ‘0’ .
9. From machine data 1 screen, enter crop parameters screen ( ) and turn vacuum
minimum to ‘0’.
10. In rate work screen enter 7 gpa and seed rate to ‘0’.
11. In machine data screen 2 enter a test speed of 7mph and set test speed to on
12. Turn flow control for liquid pump remote to 0 and turn on tractor remote, gradually turn up
remote flow until 40 psi is displayed on liquid gauge.
13. Set all section valve adjustments to 6 using knob on top of section valves.
14. Turn master work switch on and monitor liquid pressure gauge. Pressure will likely dip
down and raise back up to 40psi. If not, adjust tractor flow control accordingly.
15. Install buckets under each row with graduated marks to measure out up to 1 gallon.
16. Turn master work switch back on and start a timer.
17. Run Liquid system for the time stated in the chart for the model tested, buckets should
have been filled to the 1 gallon mark, if there is more or less than 1 gallon of water in the
bucket divide that amount by 1 gallon to get a percentage of error, then in planter
configurations, ( ) the next window pops up, the cal. Factor # for the flow meter should
be changed the same %, if output was more than 1 gallon the cal. # should be decreased
and if the output was less than 1 gallon then the ca. # should be increased.
Note:
If calibration is being performed on a 31 or 32/15 planter and only 16
rows of liquid are being collected then use the 16/30 time on the chart
.
Note:
When calibrating all rows on a 31 or 32/15 model gallons per acre may
need to be raised to 14 and then the same time as a 1630 used..
Note:
When adjustment is complete, switch use poti to yes and reset all fan
and vacuum minimum settings as they were.
