Post-Maintenance Inspection
After the completion of the PM, it is recommended that the Service Engineer re-evaluate the System using
the Instrument Repair Report. This section will explain the Post-Maintenance Inspection Testing section on
this form and will require that the Service Engineer is able to run the System.
Note:
The following procedures will run the SPE-DEX System through a complete run where solvent is used.
It is recommended that the Service Engineer use Safety Glasses and Gloves when using the equipment.
1.
Turn on the computer which is used to run the System.
2.
Turn the Envision’s power on.
3.
Turn on the Nitrogen Source and regulate it to between 60 and 80 psi (4.1 to 5.5 bar).
4.
Turn on the Vacuum Source and regulate it to between -23 and -26 ”Hg (-779 to -880 mbar).
5.
Record the vacuum and nitrogen readings in the table.
6.
Using the computer, connect to the Envision and ensure that all Modules connected are displayed.
7.
Within the Controller, write a method similar to the following:
Note:
Solvent names have not been included as the solvent used should be the one that the end-user
already has connected to the units.

8.
Load the method to all Modules.
9.
Prepare all Modules by loading an empty Disk Holder, a Sample Container with 250-500 mL of DI Water
in it, and an empty Collection Vessel.
10.
Starting with Module 1, run all the Modules one at a time and record their responses in the table in the
Instrument Repair Report.
a.
For Prewet valves, ensure that the solvent dispenses until the level reaches the top Thermistor
and then stops. Solvent should be pulled to the Solvent-Waste Container.
b.
When the Sample Loading step occurs, ensure that the Water-Inlet-Valve (WIV) opens and that
the flow of the water into the Disk Holder is steady. Water should be pulled through the
instrument and deposited into the Water-Waste Container.
c.
Each Rinse step should deliver a steady stream of solvent to the center of the sample container. It
is acceptable for the rinse stream to be off-center by the radius of a U.S. Quarter coin or a Euro-
Zone €2 coin.
d.
The Solvent-Waste valve should activate during the prewet steps to remove the solvent.
