CHARGING THE APPLIANCE
Ensure that the indicator light is on while charging.
NOTE: It is normal for the charger to heat up slightly.
OPERATION
The ON/OFF button is conveniently located at the top of the unit. Turn the vacuum
ON/OFF by pressing the knob at the top of the handle.
As soon as the bag/compartment is full, the suction power of the vacuum will be
greatly reduced. If this is the case, do not use the vacuum cleaner again until it has
been emptied.
EMPTYING THE BAG/COMPARTMENT
1. Open the front of the vacuum cleaner by pressing on the
‘dust filter release' button.
2. Remove the bag and empty the dust compartment.
3. Shake the bag out well and clean it by rinsing in lukewarm soapy water. Rinse
thoroughly and let dry before replacing.
4. Put the bag into the compartment and click compartment back into place. Take care
not to block the ventilation openings.
VACUUMING LIQUIDS
● Before vacuuming liquids, empty the dust compartment if you have vacuumed dust.
● Place the vacuum vertically, keep nozzles downward and check the liquid level.
● It is recommended to empty the dust compartment immediately when the liquid level
reaches the “MAX” line. If the compartment contents exceed this designated level,
permanent damage to the vacuum can result.
● After the dust compartment and filter are fully dried, assemble the vacuum again.
STORAGE & CLEANING
● The Hoover HSV 40 should be stored in a cool dry place.
