2.3. Intended use
Another or additional use of the device, as they explained in the descrip-
tion, is considered to be improper and dangerous.
The unit must not be used for medical or therapeutic purposes, for skin-
tanning, or in other medical equipment. The high intensity UV could pro-
duce burns, cause premature aging and possibly lead to skin cancer.
The unit must be used indoors only. Outdoor use is not permitted.
The following are further conditions for appropriate use:
Observance of all notes in these operating instructions.
Compliance with all general and specific safety instructions in these
operating istructions.
The execution of all servicing and maintenance work.
Compliance with the relevant accident prevention regulations.
2.4. Duties of personnel
Before commencing work, all persons working with the unit undertake:
To observe the regulations on work safety and accident prevention
To read the safety chapter and the warning notices in these Operat-
ing Instructions and to observe them at all times during operation
The operator is responsible for compliance with all applicable to the perma-
nent establishment rules and standards.
2.5. Organisational Measures
The functions of all the existing safety equipment must be inspected regu-
larly before the start of work or of each new shift. Look for outwardly visible
damage.
2.6. Informal safety measures
The general and local regulations on accident prevention and environ-
mental protection must be provided and observed as a supplement to the
Operating Instructions.
2.7. Air cooling
The LED Powerline ACIC is an air-cooled UV irradiation unit. The installa-
tion location must be sufficiently ventilated.
Ensure safe operation by providing the following ambient conditions:
no conductive dusts in the atmosphere
no corrosive environments; in particular, no atmospheres containing
chlorine, sulphur, acids or salines
clean, dust-free atmosphere
Under no circumstances may the air inlets and outlets be covered or
blocked. Make sure that the air can circulate without restriction. Blocked air
apertures can lead to malfunctions or even destruction of the unit. Only op-
erate the unit in the prescribed ambient conditions chapter 7.1 p. 23.
