TROUBLESHOOTING

ANYONE using or servicing this generator must read, understand, and follow all safety and operation instructions pro-
vided in the product manual. Failure to closely follow these instructions can result in circumstances leading to death,
serious injury, and property damage.
Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES.
Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide. This is a
poison you cannot see or smell.
NEVER use inside a home
or garage, EVEN IF doors
and windows are open.
Only use OUTSIDE and
far away from windows,
doors, and vents.
PROBLEM

Engine will not start or
starts and runs rough
No fuel.
Add fuel (page 20).
Stale fuel.
Drain fuel tank; fill with fresh fuel (page 26).
No or low engine oil.
Add engine oil (page 18).
Spark plug cap (wire) discon-
nected.
Install spark plug cap over spark plug.
Faulty/bad spark plug.
Check/replace spark plug (page 23).
Fuel not reaching carburetor.
Clean fuel sediment cup (page 22).
Dirty air filter.
Clean or replace air filter (page 21).
Dirty spark arrestor screen.
Clean spark arrestor screen (page 24).
Engine suddenly stops
No fuel.
Add fuel (page 20).
No or low engine oil.
Add engine oil (page 18).
No power at AC recep-
tacle
Electrical overload on generator.
Check all circuit break-
ers for “tripped’ position.
If the master circuit
breaker is tripped,
reduce the load on the Twist-Lock (NEMA L14-30R) recep-
tacle and reset the breaker. If a duplex circuit breaker is
tripped, reduce the load on the duplex (NEMA 5-20R)
receptacles above the breaker, wait several minutes for the
breaker to cool, and reset the breaker.
Ground fault in connected device.
Check GFCI outlets for “tripped”
indicator light off. Unplug connec-
tions and press the RESET button
fully. Reconnect appliances and
determine which is causing the
GFCI to trip.
Have appliance serviced by quali-
fied repair facility.
If all appliances cause the GFCI to
trip, service the generator at an authorized Honeywell Gen-
erator Dealer.
Poor connection or defective cord.
Check cord connection. Replace defective cord.
Connected electrical appliance/
equipment is defective.
Check electrical appliance/equipment for defects. Discon-
nect defective appliance/equipment from the generator.
Have appliance serviced by qualified repair facility.
