Removal
1. Remove the bottom housing assembly (refer to Bottom Housing operation).
2. Remove the scan bracket assembly (refer to Scan Bracket Assembly operation).
3. Disconnect the coax cables from the WAN/GPS radio card.
When disconnecting coax cable connectors pull
them straight off the board jacks. DO NOT tilt them sideways.
4. Using a #0 Phillips screwdriver remove 2 screws by WAN/GPS radio coax connectors.
5. Using a T7 Torx driver remove 1 remaining screw securing radio heatsink assembly to main logic board.
6. Remove the rado heatsink assembly. They WAN/GPS radio card may now be removed
Installation
1. If this is a new UMTS or CDMA radio card install a new heatsink pad (item 9) on the bottom as shown below. If it
is a Flexnet (Gobi) radio install a new shield gasket (item 10) as shown.
2. Plug the WAN/GPS radio card into its connector on the main logic board.
3. Hold the WAN/GPS radio card down and install the radio heatsink assembly. Be sure the edges of the heatsink slip
into the grounding fingers soldered to the main logic board. Verify that the grounding gasket and insulator are still
intact on the heatsink. If you are installing a new heatsink you will need to install a new scan flex grounding gasket
and camera flex insulator. Use the old heatsink assembly or the picture below as a reference.
