STORAGE GUIDE
Extended storage, such as for winter,
requires that you take certain steps to
reduce the effects of deterioration from
non-use of the motorcycle. In addition,
necessary repairs should be made
BEFORE storing the motorcycle;
otherwise, these repairs may be forgotten
by the time the motorcycle is removed
from storage.
STORAGE
1.
Change the engine oil and filter.
2.
Make sure the cooling system is filled
with a 50/50% antifreeze solution.
3.
Drain the fuel tank and carburetors.
Spray the inside of the tank with an
aerosol rust-inhibiting oil.
Reinstall the fuel cap on the
tank.
NOTE:
If
storage
will last more than one month,
carburetor draining is very important, to
assure proper performance after storage.

oil into each cylinder. Crank the engine
several times to distribute the oil, then
reinstall the spark plugs.
NOTE:
When turning the engine over, the Engine
Stop Switch should be OFF and each
spark plug placed in its cable cap and
grounded to prevent damage to the
ignition system.
