1 Information concerning these instructions
Read these instructions carefully before beginning operation with your HomeMatic
components.
Keep the instructions handy for later consultation! Please hand-over the operating
manual as well when you hand-over the device to other persons for use.

2 Hazard information
• The device must only be operated when it is closed.
• The device must be set up or assembled in such a way that it cannot
topple over, fall down or cause damage.
• The device support and mast may only be used for mounting the sensors:
under no circumstances may they be used for mounting any other objects
(such as antennae or vanes, etc.).
• Do not install the device so that it is the highest point in an outdoor area:
on buildings, trees, masts, and so on. This creates a risk of lightning
strikes. When installing the device on buildings, lightning protection regu-
lations must be observed.
• No modification or conversion work may be carried out on the device.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around. Plastic films/bags, pieces
of polystyrene, etc. can be dangerous in the hands of a child.
• The device is not suitable for children. It contains small parts that could
be swallowed. As such, it must be kept out of the reach of children.
3 Function
The WDS100-C6-O combination sensor for outdoor use records the following weather
data: temperature, air humidity, wind direction, wind speed, the onset of rain, rainfall and
hours of sunshine. It is battery-operated and can therefore be positioned in any location.
The sensor is equipped with bi-directional wireless technology and transmits its
weather data at cyclical intervals. The duration of each interval is between 120 and
180 s.; this is redefined after each transmission.
You have the option of putting the sensor into a quick-retrieval mode, which enables
the display unit to immediately request the current weather data at any point in time.
The sensor can be placed up to 300 m (depending on local conditions; see the “General
information about radio operation” section) away from the base station.
The combination sensor is intended for recording weather and climate data that has
been transmitted to a designated reception station.
