1 8 LUBRI CATI ON
The trouble-free operation on the lathe depends on its careful
servicing. Of special importance is the regular lubrication of
all machine-operating parts with the recommended lubricants.

N OTES:
Lubricate all slideways lightly before every use. Lubricate the
change gears and the leadscrew slightly with a lithium-based
Grease.
1 8 .1 H EADSTOCK
Oil must be up to indicator mark in oil sight glass (A, Fig27).
Top off with Mobilgear 627 or equivalent. Fill by pulling plug
(B,Fig. 27). To drain, remove drain plug on the right slide of
headstock (C,Fig.28). Drain oil completely and refill after the
first three months of operation. Then, change oil in the
headstock annually.
1 8 .2 CH AN GE GEAR
Lubricate two oil ports (D, Fig.28) on the gear shafts with
20W machine oil once daily.
1 8 .3 CARRI AGE
Lubricate four oil ports (E, Fig.29) with 20W machine oil once
daily.
1 8 .4 CROSS SLI DE
Lubricate two oil ports (F, Fig.29) with 20W machine oil once
daily.
1 8 .5 APRON
Lubricate two oil ports (G,Fig.30) with 20w machine oil once
daily.
