Master cylinder Brake Fluid Extraction
WarninG!
Brake fluid must be refilled directly from a
freshly opened bottle only. This item must not be used
to dispense brake fluid; it can only be used for extraction.
1. Before removing the master cylinder cap,
clean the cap and the master cylinder
around the cap. It is important to prevent
foreign materials from falling into the master
cylinder once the cap is removed.
2. Insert the end of the appropriate Extracting
Tube with the adapter into the Fluid Coupler
on top of the Reservoir Tank. Insert
the adapter fully to avoid leaking.
3. Remove the master cylinder cap and insert
the end of the Extracting Tube without the
adapter into the master cylinder reservoir.
WarninG! tO prEVEnt SEriOuS inJury:
Ensure that the Extracting tube does not
contain any moisture, fluid or debris to
prevent contaminating the brake fluid.
4. With the Air Control Valve in the closed
position, attach the air supply to the Air Inlet.
5. Turn on the air supply and open the Air
Control Valve. It will take several seconds
for vacuum to build in the Reservoir Tank
before brake fluid begins to flow.
6. As the fluid starts to flow, continue until all fluid
has been extracted. When finished, close the Air
Control Valve, detach the air supply and remove the
Extracting Tube from the master cylinder reservoir.
7. If the tool requires more force to accomplish
the task, verify that the tool receives sufficient,
unobstructed airflow (CFM) and increase the
pressure (PSI) output of the regulator up to the
maximum air pressure rating of this tool.
cautiOn! tO prEVEnt inJury FrOM
tOOL Or accESSOry FaiLurE:
Do not exceed the tool’s maximum
air pressure rating.
8. Refill the master cylinder back to its normal capacity
with clean, new brake fluid and replace the cap
on the master cylinder. Use only the kind of brake
fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
9. Disconnect the Extracting Tube from the Fluid
Coupler and remove the Coupler from the Spout.
Pour the collected fluid into an appropriate
container and dispose of in accordance with
all applicable local, state and federal laws.
Do not store fluid in the Reservoir Tank.
10. Clean external surfaces of the tool with a
clean, dry cloth. Clean the Reservoir Tank with
compatible solvent that will not damage it to
remove accumulated debris. Dispose of solvent
properly and allow Reservoir Tank to air dry
completely, then store in a safe, dry, clean location
out of reach of children. Do not allow solvent to
sit in Reservoir Tank for an extended period.
Bleeding Brake Lines and Wheel cylinders
1. Determine the proper brake bleeding sequence from
the vehicle service manual (i.e., right rear caliper,
left rear caliper, right front caliper, left front caliper).
2. Remove the cap from the vehicle’s master
cylinder, and make sure the master cylinder
is full of brake fluid. If not full, fill the master
cylinder to capacity with clean, new brake
fluid. Use only the kind of brake fluid
recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
3. Clean the vehicle’s brake calipers and
bleed screws with brake parts cleaner (not
included) to remove all dirt and debris.
4. Connect the appropriate end of the Brake
Bleeding Tube to the Fluid Coupler on top of
the Reservoir Tank. Turn the Flow Control
Valve on the Tube to the OFF position.
5. With the Air Control Valve in the closed
position, attach the air supply to the Air Inlet.
6. Turn on the air supply and open the Air
Control Valve. It will take several seconds
for vacuum to build in the Reservoir Tank.
7. Attach the Bleed Screw Adapter on the
Brake Bleeding Tube to the bleed screw on
the vehicle caliper. Turn the Flow Control
Valve on the Tube to the ON position.
8. Using a bleed screw wrench (not included),
open the bleed screw until brake fluid
starts flowing into the Reservoir Tank.
note:
It is common to see bubbles in the Brake
Bleeding Tube during the bleeding procedure. This
is likely not from air bubbles in the brake line but
from air being sucked into the Bleeding Tube from
the Bleed Screw Adapter. To prevent this, apply
silicone grease on the bleed screw before installing
the Bleed Screw Adapter to make a proper seal.
9. Keep the bleed screw open until new fluid can be
seen flowing through the Brake Bleeding Tube.
