3. Routine Inspection before Every Shift
22
Danger:
Any loose, damaged, or missed components used for the trailer coupling can cause
the trailer to tip over or roll off creating a hazardous situation, which if not avoided, will result in
serious or fatal injuries.
To check the trailer coupling:
1.
2. If you detect any faults or non-compliance, refer to
Troubleshooting
chapter. Otherwise, continue
the routine inspection and go to the next routine procedure.
12. Checking heating and air-conditioning systems
This routine procedure verifies that the heating and air-conditioning (AC) systems function properly.
Before checking heating and air-conditioning systems:
1. Ensure that the ignition key is on, but the engine is off.
To check the heating and AC systems:
Caution:
Never operate the heating and AC systems without filters. Missing or clogged
filters may damage the tractor.
Note:
The blower fan switch has three sequential positions corresponding to the following:
position 1- off, position 2 - low speed, position 3 - high speed.
1. Set the blower fan switch into position 1 to ensure that the blower fan works properly at the low
speed.
2. Set the blower fan switch into position 3 to ensure that the blower fan works properly at the high
speed.
3. If the AC system is not installed, skip steps 4-6, go to step 7.
4. Press and hold down the AC condenser fan switch. The dual fan will spin in the opposite
direction blowing dust and dirt from the AC condenser.
5. If the dual fan is coated with dirt, gently clean it with soapy water or cleaning solution suitable for
copper and aluminum. Do not use any abrasive material or substances.
6. Inspect the back of the air condenser to ensure that the area is clean and free of any objects.
7. Inspect the rear cab filter. If the rear cab filter is heavily clogged, replace the filter. Otherwise,
clean the rear cab filter with compressed air at a maximum pressure of 70 psi and reinstall it.
8. From inside the cab, open the right-side door.
Note:
The right-side door opens only from inside.
