Getting ready for routine inspection
Warning:
Failure to comply with the following guidelines could result in a potentially
hazardous situation.
l
The mandatory verification procedures must be carried out before every shift.
l
All safety and protection devices must be fully functional. They must not be removed or rendered
inoperative.
l
During the routine inspection, the tractor must be stationary, inoperative and securely parked.
l
If you detect any fault or non-compliance during the inspection, troubleshoot it. If the problem
persists, contact the nearest Holder-accredited service center. Do not operate the tractor unless it is
deemed safe to do so. Deficiencies must be corrected prior to operation.
l
During the routine inspection, wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance
with the health and safety rules and regulations applicable in your area.
Danger:
Do not run engine in enclosed spaces without proper ventilation or exhaust
extraction. Failure to comply will result in serious or fatal injuries.
Emissions of diesel exhaust contain harmful components. Some of them are odorless and
invisible, and can kill without warning.
Before the routine inspection:
1. Ensure that the tractor is positioned on level ground with no inclination.
2. Ensure that the tractor is stationary:
l
Drive direction switch is in neutral.
l
Drive program switch is set to 0.
l
Parking brake is engaged.
3. For enhanced protection, secure the tractor with wedges if wedges are available.
4. Turn the ignition key on but keep the engine off.
1. Checking battery and battery disconnect switch
This routine procedure verifies that the battery is in proper condition, and the battery disconnect switch
functions properly.
To check the battery and battery disconnect switch:
1. Ensure that the red removable key is turned on in the battery disconnect switch.
