Operating and charging the ancillary battery
If the van is not connected to the 230V mains supply, the
ancillary battery will supply the electrical system with 12V DC
voltage. Since the battery only has a limited capacity, the elec
-
trical devices should not be operated for a longer period of time
without charging the battery or connecting the camper to the
230 V mains connection. Some electrical devices continuously
use standby current from the ancillary battery. This discharges
the ancillary battery.
Die Ladung der Aufbaubatterie erfolgt über folgende Strom

quellen:
- the generator when the motor is running
- the Dometic PerfectCharge SMP439 charger
(only via 230 V power feed)
- if available, via a solar panel*
Battery Sensor
(Vantana Premium, optional in the
De Luxe series)
An Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) has been connected to the
battery terminal. It measures and monitors the actual current,
actual voltage and temperature of the batteries in a highly
precise manner. Normally, the battery sensors are calibrated
automatically. To calibrate the battery sensor manually, please
follow the instructions in
Chapter 7.3 Battery Management.
Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS)
It is possible to determine the remaining operating time of the
battery based on the current consumption. The IBS ensures
that the battery will be changed in good time and assists in
providing active energy management so that the performance
If there is a loss of power in the battery sensor (voltage
absent), you must recalibrate.
