Defective connector at
voltage regulator, or
defective wiring from
regulator to exciter field

Disconnect plug from voltage
regulator PC board. Using
jumper leads with clip and prod
terminals, connect 12-V DC to
terminals 1 and 4 in loose plug.
Connect NEGATIVE to terminal
4 Connect POSITIVE lead to
terminal 1 (see Schematic and
Connection Diagrams in Chapter
5). If generator will NOT
produce at least 80 V-AC,
replace or repair connector and
wiring between voltage regulator
and exciter field as required.
