Connecting the pipe to the indoor unit

Remove the  are nut and seal cap.

By loosening the  are nut at the pipe end, the refrigerant is discharged in a small amount. The arrangement
has been made for shipment, and the discharge of refrigerant is never a trouble to the equipment.

When the  are nut is removed, never fail to remove the seal cap. If not removed, the refrigerant will not be
circulated, which result the compressor drive motor will possibly be burnt.

Apply refrigerator oil to the union and the  ared portion of the pipe.
Wrap  are insulation, bind top and bottom  are insulation by binder.

!

CAUTION

When connecting pipes, if  are nut is over-tightened at the small diameter side, the screw thread of the service
valve may be broken making pipe connection impossible. Be sure to tighten the nut with speci ed  torque.

Connecting of drain pipe

O

Securely glue connection part of drain hose and PVC pipe, using PVC adhesive.

O

If gluing of drain hose and PVC pipe is too weak, water leakage may occur.

Be sure to wrap generally-available insulator (10mm or more of foamed polyethylene) around drain

hose, inside the house, for insulation heat.

O

Checking drain and water leakage. Perform after connecting power.

O

If checking of drainage is omitted, water drop may occur.

O

Add water to water pan of indoor unit as shown below.

O

Perform test running of drain pump to check drainage operation.

O

 Test run method

1 Turn power on.
2 Remove cover of electric box and set the drain pump test run switch to TEST.
3 After checking the drainage, return the switch to NORMAL.

O

If drain pump test run is set to TEST, drain pump may malfunction.

!

CAUTION

O

The rubber strap used for  xing the insulator should

not be tied with great force. Otherwise, this will damage
heat insulation and causes water condensation.

!

CAUTION

O

Insulate the refrigerant pipes as shown in Fig. 5.2.

O

Position of piping connection is shown in Fig. 5.1. (Indoor Unit)

O

Do not create an upper-slope or rise for the drain piping, since drain water can  ow back to the indoor unit

and leakage into the room will occur when the system operation is stopped.

O

Do not connect the drain pipe with sanitary or sewage piping or any other drainage piping.

When the common drain piping is connected with other indoor units, the connected position of each indoor

unit must be higher than the common piping. The pipe size of the common drain pipe must be large enough
according to the unit size and number of units.

O

After performing drain piping work and electrical wiring, check to ensure that water  ows smoothly as in the

following procedure.

O

 Checking with the Float Switch

  (A)  Switch ON the power supply.

  (B)  Pour 1.5 to 2.0 liters of water into the drain pan.

  (C) Check to ensure that the water  ows smoothly or whether no water leakage occurs.

When water cannot be found at the end of the drain piping, pour another 1.5 to 2.0 liters of water into

the drain.

  (D) Switch ON the power supply and press the RUN/STOP button.

!

CAUTION

O

In case of pouring water through the access door.

O

In case of pouring water through the air outlet.

(1) The position of the drain pipe connection is shown in
 Fig.

6.1.

Fig. 6.1 Position of Drain Pipe Connection

(2)  Prepare a polyvinyl chloride pipe with a 32mm outer

diameter.

(3) Connecting Drain Piping

O

Insert the drain hose to the end of the drain pipe

connection fully and fasten the hose with hose
band (Accessory).

O

Insulate the drain hose and band using the packing

(5Tx50x200, 5Tx270x270): Accessory)

O

The drain piping must be performed with a down-

slope pitch of 1/25 to 1/100.

O

Completely fasten the tubing to the drain hose with

the adhesive agent to avoid the drainage leakage.

* The total length of a+b+c shall be within 1,100mm.

The drain hose must be performed with a
horizontal or upper-slope to prevent the airpocket
inner the hose. If the airpocket occurs, the drain
water will  ow back to the unit and the abnormal
noise and leakage to the room will occur when
the unit is stopped.

P

(a)  Use the factory-supplied Drain Hose and Hose

Band.

(b)  Do not apply excessive force to the Drain Pipe

connection. It could cause a damage.

(c)  Do not use a bent or twisted Drain Hose. It will

cause water leakage.

(d) Insert the factory-supplied Drain Hose completely.

If not, or twisted, it will cause water leakage.

*  In case of lifting the drain pipe at the outlet part,

perform the drain piping work as shown in the
above  gure.

(4)  Insulate the drain pipe after connecting the drain

 hose.
