SAVING ENERGY
Using “Energy Saving” mode
To save energy, use “Energy Saving” mode, which lowers the cooling power of each compartment.
NOTES
If “Energy Saving mode is on, and the doors of the refrigerator compartment are left open for more than 30 seconds, the door alarm will sound, and the interior LED lights of the refrigerator compartment and
vacuum compartment will dim to save energy. If the refrigerator doors are closed for an extended period of time, the interior of the refrigerator will cool gradually, helping to save even more energy.
As the cooling power is reduced when “Energy Saving” mode is on, ice cream and other frozen foods might become
soft. In addition, it might take more time to freeze foods or to make ice.
The “Save” indicator lamp is turned on during the “Energy Saving” mode.
If you set “Ice Maker” to “Quick” , “Quick Freeze” while “Energy Saving” mode is on, the cooling power will temporarily return to normal strength.
If “Energy Saving” mode is on and the cooling mode is set to “Veg” , the cooling power will be even lower than when only “Veg” is set.
If the temperature setting of any of the refrigerator or freezer compartments is set to “

” , the cooling power of those compartments will not be further reduced

Touch on the control panel to activate the control panel.
All indicators will turn on, and then some will turn off to reflect the current settings.
Touch button on the Control Panel to turn on the indicator lamp,
and touch button to turn off “Save” indicator lamp.

“Door” indicator
The indicator automatically turns on when it detects refrigerator doors being frequently opened
and closed. To save energy, minimize how frequently you open and close the refrigerator doors.

The indicator automatically turns off after about 5 minutes.
・
The indicator remains off while the “Door” indicator is on.

When “Energy Saving” mode is on
If the indicator is off, the following causes are possible.
・
A large volume of food was stored in the refrigerator all at once, or immediately after installation.
・
Refrigerator doors were opened and closed frequently.(When the “Door open / close sign” is lighting.)
・
An item (food, bag, etc.) is caught in a door, preventing the door from closing completely.
・
The ice maker setting is set to “Quick” , “Quick Freeze” , or the cooling mode is set to “Veg” .
・
The ambient temperature is about 35˚C.
“eco” indicator
NOTES
When the refrigerator is running relatively stably, the indicator turns on, indicating that the refrigerator is running in eco mode.
Use this indicator as a guide to saving energy. As a general rule, minimize how frequently you open and close the refrigerator doors and how long doors remain open.
