disk
Run state for a disk can be:
• UP—Disk is mounted and fully functional.
• DOWN—Disk is usable, but not currently in
use. When a node is DOWN, its disks are
also marked as DOWN. An administrator
might have rebooted the node, disabled the
disk, the disk is new and has not yet been
added, or the system is coming online and
the disk has not been mounted yet.
If a disk on node that is UP and not in
maintenance mode remains down for more
than 10 minutes, the disk is marked in
ERROR.
• ERROR—Disk is unusable due to
unrecoverable errors. Customer support
intervention is required to replace the disk.
An error severity alert is raised. The only
thing you can do with a disk that is in ERROR
is to delete it.

file system
Run state for a file system can be:
• UP—File system is fully functional, and data
is available.
• DOWN—File system is offline and the data is
not available. An administrator might have
disabled the file system.
• IMPAIRED—File system has reported errors.
We recommend running
fsck
to check and
repair the file system. A warning severity
alert is raised.
• ERROR—File system is down due to errors
that prevent it from staying online. We
recommend running
fsck
to check and repair
the file system. Customer support
intervention may be required to troubleshoot
the problem if fsck is not successful in
repairing the file system. An error severity
alert is raised.
