DVD SETUP

AUDIO SETTINGS

Choose the appropriate Audio settings for your equip-
ment as it only affect during the playback of DVD
discs.

Press SETUP in STOP mode.

Press Arrow (

) to select CUSTOM, then

press ENTER.

CUSTOM mode will appear.

Press Arrow (

) to

select AUDIO, then
press ENTER to confirm.

Press Arrow (

) to select the below

items, then press ENTER.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control):

To compress the range of sound volume.

The default setting is OFF.

This function is effective only for the sound record-
ed by Dolby Digital recording.

Dolby Digital:

Set to BITSTREAM when the unit is connected to a
Dolby Digital Decoder.
(BITSTREAM: Output by Dolby Digital)
(PCM: Convert the Dolby Digital to PCM)

The default setting is BITSTREAM.

DTS

Set to BITSTREAM when the unit is connected to
DTS Decoder.

The default setting is OFF.

DOWN SAMPLING:

Set to ON when outputting in 48 kHz.

The default setting is ON.

When playing disc with copyright Protection

If you select OFF, copyright protection will be acti-
vated and sound will be down sampled at 48kHz.

MPEG:

BITSTREAM : Output by MPEG sound
PCM : Convert the MPEG to PCM
Set to BITSTREAM when the unit is connected to
MPEG Decoder.

The default setting is PCM.

Press SETUP to exit.

You can enjoy stereophonic Virtual Surround Effects
from your existing stereo system.

Press SURROUND
during playback.

Press SURROUND to set it 1 (Natural effect)
or 2 (Emphasised effect) or OFF.

Press MODE or RETURN to exit.

Note (for CD play only)

Virtual Surround will not be effective if the sound
mode is set to something other than STEREO.

Turn down the level or turn it “OFF” if the sound is
distorted.
