2.9 Faulty Device Replacement

There are two plug-and-play solutions available for replacing a faulty Switch 
with a Switch of the same type 

 

(Faulty Device Replacement):

D

First, you can configure the new switch using an AutoConfiguration 
Adapter

 

(see 

“Loading the system configuration from the ACA” on page 37

)or 

D

Second, you can configure the new switch using DHCP Option 82

 

(see 

“Entering the IP parameters via HiDiscovery” on page 35

).

In both cases, the same configuration data which the faulty Switch had are 
transferred to the new Switch during booting.
