1. General aspects
CAUTION:
Read carefully before starting up !
Please observe the notes in the operating instructions carefully. In case of non-observation, the
warranty claims will become void. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage and/or
consequential damage resulting.
Introduction
This chapter contains general information on the unit and manual.
Target group
This manual is intended for technicians who install the unit, carry out maintenance
work and replace faulty parts.
Copyright
The duplication of the this manual in whole or in part shall be permitted only upon
written approval of HEYLO GmbH.
Reservation
HEYLO GmbH reserves the right carry out modifications and improvements on the
product and in the manual at any time without previous announcement.
Disposal
The unit has been designed for many years of operation. If it has to be disposed of,
the competent legal regulations have to be observed in environmentally-gentle
manner.
Safety guidelines
Keep away from children:
Do not allow children to play with or in the vicinity of the unit.
Electric connection:
Air blowers and air movers have been designed for operation on 230 V / 50 Hz.
Use shock-proof plugs only. The sockets have to be earthed or protected by residual current circuit-
breakers in the house installation.
Protect the power cable against damage:
Never use the unit with damaged power cable. If the
power cable has been damaged, it has to be replaced by a cable of the same type and dimension.
Extension cable:
Use approved extension cables only !
Handle with care:
Do not drop or throw the unit as this may cause damage to the unit or wiring.
Operate on solid surface:
Always set up the unit on a solid and plane surface.
Secure during transport:
When transporting units in vehicles, secure against slipping.
Keep dry:
The unit must not be operated in puddles or in standing water. Do not store or operate
outdoors. If the electric wires or parts of the unit get wet, the unit has to be thoroughly dried before re-
using.
Keep the air openings free:
Do not cover or block the air inlets and outlets.
2. Use of air movers / air blowers
The air blowers have been designed in such a way that air is blown over the moist surfaces in order to
dry them quickly. They are especially suitable for drying floors as they produce a flat air strip. A high-
volume air flow increases the evaporation, helps to prevent the development of mould in the process,
and reduces the risk of additional damage caused by moisture. Flowing air improves the evaporation
as the boundary layer of the saturated air is blown way which is produced over the wet surfaces.
3. Setting up the unit
In order to dry a building, at least one TurboVent air mover has to be placed in each room. A triple air
exchange should be produced. Make sure that all wet surfaces are exposed to the air flow.
4. Humidity control
If the air mover is used to increase the evaporation in a building, the air humidity usually increases
immediately as well. If this occurs, the air movement is less effective and drying is slowed down. For
this reason, it is essential that the air mover is used along with sufficient dehumidification. In order to
control the development of mould, air humdity in rooms has to be kept below 60 per cent. If possible,
air humdity in rooms should be kept below 45 per cent. A HEYLO dehumidifier can be used for the
purpose.
