6. Commissioning and Operation
6.1 Use of the Battery Cartridge and Charging Unit
The charging unit is run with a nominal voltage of 230 V and a
frequency of 50-60 Hz. New batteries must be charged prior to
use. To remove the battery actuate the battery lock and pull it
out of the tool. To charge the battery, connect the power plug
of the charging unit with the power supply and slide the battery
into the charging unit. For detailed information please read the
operating instruction of the battery charger.
WARNING
The charging of the batteries must only be made
with generic chargers.
No other batteries e.g. dry batteries or car batteries
etc. are permitted to be used neither in the tool nor
in the charging unit.
Do not use the cord to transport the charging unit
orto pull the plug out of a wall socket with force.
Do not insert strange parts into the ducts of the
charging unit. Pull the plug of the charging unit
after charging. Do not disassemble the charging
unit or battery.
Close the battery with the red cover when is not in use.
Do not place the battery in your pocket or in your
toolbox if there are any conductive materials in it such
as coins, keys, tools or other metallic parts.
6.2 Mounting of the Tool Head
WARNING
Before starting any work on electrical appliances it
must be safeguarded that there are no live parts in
the immediate assembly area of the user. Is this not
possible special precaution measures acc. to DIN EN
50110-1 for working near live parts must be provided.
Prior to changing the adapter or the cutting head
remove battery to avoid unintended starts!
Pay attention that the locking bolts are locked and the
die sets are accordingly been engaged before working
with the tool.
1. Please assure that the tool is in the bottom position. If not
please push the return lever (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 5) that the
stroke will get into the bottom position.
2. Pull the locking bolts (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 6) out; insert the
adapter and the under die set holding fixture. Insert the right
die set into the adapter (upper and lower). The ratchet of the
tool head hold the upper and lower die set automatically.
3. Close the adapter and lock the locking bolts (see fig. 4.1/item-
no. 6).
6.3 Normal Operation/Production Cycle
WARNING
Do not crimp on live cables or conductors.
Only the connecting material which is assigned
to the die sets from the manufacturer should be
used for crimping.
1. Insert the terminal in the middle of the correct crimp profile.
Push the operating switch (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 1), the stroke
will be move out. Hold the operating switch until the terminal
will be hold automatically (be careful that the terminal will not
be deformed). From that position the cable can be insert very
easily.
2. Push the operating switch (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 1) until it is
completely closed.
3. The completed crimping process will be shown through a spe-
cial click sound.
4. Push the return lever (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 5) to bring the
stroke back into the basic position.
5. Now the crimped terminal can be easily removed. For the ap-
plication of some terminals it could be necessary to open the
adapter from one side. In this case pull out the locking bolts
(see fig. 4.1/item-no. 6), flap the tool head to one side, take the
terminal out and lock the locking bolts (see fig. 4.1/item-no. 6).
