1. Introduction
Hermansen e-bikes are pedelecs (Pedal Electrical
Cycles), also called EPACs (Electrically Power As-
sisted Cycles), which means that they are electric
bicycles where the rider’s pedalling is required to get
assistance from a small electric motor. A pedelec is a
low-powered e-bike type where the maximum rated
power allowed is 250W and the maximum motor as-
sisted speed level allowed is 25 km/h.
This manual provides important information about
your Hermansen e-bike’s electrical system, which con-
sists of an intelligent rear hub motor, a bottle shaped
high energy density Li-ion battery, and a smartphone
app from which you control the motor settings and
monitor the battery’s state of charge.
The electrical system complies with all essential
requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
and Directive 2004/108/EC relating to electromag-
netic compatibility. The following technical standards
were used: EN 15194:2017 Electrically power assisted
cycles (EPAC), essential requirements of the Machin-
ery Directive 2006/42/EC and Directive 2004/108/
EC relating to electromagnetic compatibility.
We recommend that you read the manual attentively
and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
We continuously update and improve our e-bikes and
may provide supplementary pages in the future to
ensure that you have the most up to date information.
