Performing a system test
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The start/stop test is performed. The result of the start/stop test is
displayed.
If the start/stop test was successful, the following appears:
• Charge and test again.
Allow the battery to charge completely and test it again.
• Good - recharge.
Allow the battery to charge and put back into operation.
• Battery OK.
Put battery back into operation.
• Cell defective, replace battery.
Replace battery and test it again, if necessary.
• Replace the battery.
Replace battery and test it again, if necessary.
This message may also be displayed if the terminal contact with
the battery is insufficient, for example. In this case, disconnect the
battery and test it again by selecting
>Outside the vehicle< .
4. Return to the main menu with Next .
7.5 Performing a system test
If the BPC-Tool is connected to a Hella Gutmann diagnostic tool, software
version 47 or higher must be installed on the diagnostic tool in order to
perform the system test.
The following tests are performed consecutively by the BPC-Tool during
the system test:
• Battery test
• Starter test
• Alternator test
• Resistor test
