5-V-Output
5V Mini-USB Charger for the power supply of a
navigation system, iPod, MP3-player etc. The
power supply is also provided if the PP20 DSP
is switched off. If the battery voltage falls below
11.5 V, the voltage switches off automatically in
order to protect the battery. The maximum charge
current is limited to 500mA.
AUX-Input
3,5 mm jack plug for connecting a navigation
system, iPod, MP3-players etc:
The intelligent AUX-Input of the PP20 DSP auto-
matically detects input signals of external devices.
After connecting an external device to the PP20
DSP, its signal will be rendered and the radio si-
gnal will be muted. If there is no signal for more
than ca. 3 seconds at the
AUX-Input
, the ampli
fi
er
automatically switches back to the radio signal.
Please note that the PP20 DSP will not detect
the signal if the volume of the extenal device
is too low. In this case it will automatically render
the radio signal. The input-volume of the AUX-In-
put has to be set up with the
level control AUX
.
Please note:
The operation mode can be switched
between MP3 and navigation mode via
switch 7
(AUX MODE)
Level controls for input sensitivity
These controls can be used to match the input
sensitivity for the channels front, rear, subwoofer
and AUX-Input.
Caution
:
Please be very careful with the volume
if you set up the input sensitivity. To prevent
damage to the loudspeakers, avoid excessive
volume for too long periods which is noticable
by an unpleasant distorted sound. Please no-
tice the chapter on optimizing the volume set
up on page 14 of this manual!
AUX-Mode
Via these switch the operation mode can be swit-
ched between MP3 and navigation mode.
In the navigation mode the AUX signal is only
transmitted to the two front loudspeakers and the
radio signal on the two rear speakers is lowered
during the navigation announcements.
In the MP3 mode the AUX signal is transmitted
to the two front loudspeakers and to the two rear
loudspeakers.
Micro-SD Cardreader
The Micro-SD Cardreader copies vehicle speci
fi
c
setups to the PP20 DSP. After having inserted the
Micro-SD Card, the setup
fi
le will be automatically
copied to the PP20 DSP. While the copy process
is in progress, the Status LED (7)
fl
ashes red. It
changes to green when the process is
fi
nished.
ATTENTION: Don’t remove the Micro-SD Card
while the copy process is in progress.
The PP20 DSP can manage two different setup
fi
les. They are marked with the
fi
le extensions
„af1“ and „af2“. The setups can be changed with
the Control Push-button (6).
Please note: It is only possible to save one setup
fi
le („af1“ or „af2“)to the Micro-SD Card.
Vehicle speci
fi
c setups can be downloaded from
www.audiotec-
fi
scher.com
Control Pushbutton
The setups „af1“ and „af2“ can be switched via the
Control Push-button (6). To switch between the
setups, the button must be pushed for 1 second.
The switching is indicated by a singular red
fl
ash
of the Status-LED (7). Pushing the button for 5
seconds completely erases the internal memory.
This is indicated by constant
fl
ashing of the Sta-
tus-LED (7).
ATTENTION: After the erasure of the setups the
PP20 DSP does not reproduce any audio signals.
Status-LED
The Status-LED indicates the current DSP-setup.
Green means that setup 1 (af1) is loaded, orange
means that setup 2 (af2) is loaded. Flashing of the
red LED indicates that no setup is loaded.
MODE Switches
Via these switches the DSP factory settings can
be modi
fi
ed. After having loaded a vehicle speci
fi
c
setup, these switches are out of operation.
