CARLTON Towel Warmer Concealed Wiring Option Instructions

Preparation for concealed wiring must commence

before

the wall cladding is in place.

1.

Ensure that the flush box that the towel warmer will be wired to is within this distance of the electrical flex from the towel warmer,
to which it must connect. Allow for loss of flex length due to connections.

2.

Drill a 8mm hole into the face of the stud where the towel warmer foot with the flex is to be positioned. Drill the hole
approximately 25mm deep.

3.

Identify the side of the stud facing the flush box that the towel warmer will be wired to. On that side of the stud, drill a 15mm

diameter hole, 25mm deep hole at right angles to this first hole so that the hole will break into the base of the first hole.  Refer to
Fig1.

4.

Place a pull through line from the flush box and out of the 8mm hole that can be picked up later once the wall cladding is in place

5.

Once the wall cladding is positioned, remove some of the cladding to expose the 8mm hole. Take care to make sure that the
area where cladding is removed will be covered by the Wall Mount. Locate the pull through.

6.

Find the Wall Mount with the extra cut out in its centre for concealed wiring and thread it on to the pull line. Screw the Wall Mount

to the stud (care is needed as the screw hole for the Wall Mount will be relatively close to the 8mm hole and it is therefore
unlikely that the Wall Mount can be screwed into tiles and must be screwed directly to the stud.)

7.

Mark a point for the other bottom leg, horizontally from the centre of the attached Wall Mount  at the horizontal measurement for

your model (but check the actual measurements to your warmer as manufacturing tolerances apply) for the other bottom fixing
barrel. It is important that the line between these two points is level

.

8.

With a Wall Mount placed over the end of the other bottom leg place the flex leg into the Wall Mount. Make sure that the towel
warmer is level, and check your marked  location for the second bottom leg and remark if needed. Remove the towel warmer.

9.

Screw the Wall Mount into the position marked

10.

Place the towel warmer onto the two bottom Wall Mounts and mark the location of the two top legs.

11.

Remove the towel warmer and fix the remaining Wall Mounts to the wall studs

12.

Carefully feed the electrical flex back into the leg from which it exits so that the flex can now exit the towel warmer through the
centre of the leg, directly into the wall. Care must be taken not to damage the flex or electrical connections.

13.

Attach the pull through to the flex and pull the flex through the stud holes to the flush box.

14.

Place the towel warmer in position and secure it to the Wall Mounts with the grub screws.
