3.7 ADJUSTABLE
LEG EXTENSION
3.7.1 Repositioning the Motorized Leg Extension
The motorized leg extension can be adjusted to make the
footrest up to 8.0" (20 cm) longer when fully extended
(Figure 3.7-1).
Extending the Motorized Leg Extension
Info: The motorized leg extension can only be extended
when the leg is in the horizontal position.
1. Press and hold the right side of the switch (+) labeled
EXTEND (Figures 3.7-2 and 3.7-3).
2. Release the switch to lock in place when the leg
extension is in the desired position.
Retracting the Motorized Leg Extension
Press and hold the left side of the switch (-) labeled
RETRACT (Figures 3.7-3 and 3-.7-4).
WARNING: Keep hands clear of pinch points when
retracting the footrest.
Safety Limits
To prevent the leg section from touching the ground when
lowering the chair or leg section, safety limits have been
built into the chair.
Operation While Leg Extension Is Extended (Any Distance)
When the Leg Extension is not
completely retracted, the leg section
can only be positioned between 0° and
33° from horizontal, providing knee flex
capability, and the chair can travel the
following height ranges (top of seat to floor) based on the
Seat-Tilt Angle.
a. Seat is > 5° = 20" to 40" (50.8 cm to 101.6 cm)
b. Seat is < 5° = 22" to 40" (55.9 cm to 101.6 cm)
Operation While Leg Extension Is Retracted
A. When the leg extension is fully
retracted and the leg section is less
than 65° from horizontal, the chair
can travel the following height ranges
(top of seat to floor) based on the
Seat-Tilt Angle.
a. Seat is > 5° = 20" to 40" (50.8 cm to 101.6 cm)
b. Seat is < 5° = 22" to 40" (55.9 cm to 101.6 cm)
B. When the leg extension is fully retracted and the leg
section is more than 65° from horizontal, the chair height
will not travel below 22" (55.9 cm) (top of seat to floor).
