3. INITIAL SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
It is recommended that you follow these initial setup instructions before using your hand pump
for filling. Failure to do so may result in poor performance or premature breakdown.
1. Select a clean location and be sure you have plenty of room to unpack and assemble your
hand pump.
2. First, locate the assembly tools pictured on the previous page. They are packed in the
inner box, that will also contain the microbore hose, replacement O-rings, and filter
elements.
3. Unpack the gauge from its box and use the spanner wrench to tighten it into place.
4. Unpack the handle, locate the two machine thread screws and hex key from the inner box
and use to install the handle. Note that the handle will have a flattened area on one side.
The flattened side faces and contacts the top of the pump.
5. Unpack the microbore hose and HAND TIGHTEN it, making sure to orient the hard angled
line upward as in the photo on the previous page.
6. Using one spanner wrench, check that the anchor for the hose is secure, then use the
second spanner to tighten the hose to the anchor. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
7. Install the brass test plug into the quick disconnect fitting of the hose.
8. Check that the bleed valve is closed. Pump the hand pump until it reaches 1500 PSI and
stop. Watch the gauge and listen for any indication of pressure loss.
9. If any leaks are detected, open the bleed valve, and tighten the fitting at which the leak
occurred.
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 at 3000 and 4500 PSI. DO NOT OVER PRESSURIZE!
11. Open the bleed valve to release the pressurized air.
4. USING THE HAND PUMP TO FILL
1. Attach the included Hatsan probe adapter to your Hatsan fill probe and tighten securely.
2. Connect your fill probe to the fill hose on the hand pump and insert the probe into your
airgun.
3. Make sure that the bleed valve is closed, and begin pumping.
4. Once you have reached your desired fill pressure or the maximum operating pressure of
the airgun’s reservoir, stop pumping and open the bleed valve. DO NOT OVERFILL!
5.
Remove the fill probe from your airgun and hang it by the hose hanger on the pump’s
handle.
If filling a non-Hatsan airgun or other reservoir equipped only with a Foster type quick
disconnect:
I. Connect the fill hose to your airgun or storage reservoir.
II. Make sure that the bleed valve is closed, and open any equipped fill valve.
III. Once you have reached your desired fill pressure or the maximum fill pressure of the
reservoir you are filling, stop pumping.
IV. Close the fill valve if so equipped. Open the bleed valve to release pressure from the
pump and fill hose.
V. Disconnect the hose from your airgun or reservoir.
CAUTION: Read the owner’s manual for your airgun/reservoir for specific filling instructions that
may not be covered above. Never overfill your storage reservoir beyond its rated capacity.
