Gain and flatness calibration adjustment overview
The instrument will store the new flatness correction constant whenever this procedure is
executed. The flatness constant adjusts the digital multimeter for AC voltage and AC
current measurements over the entire available input frequency band. The flatness
constant is calculated by the calibration value entered for the calibration command and by
automatic measurement during calibration.
Each range and frequency should be calibrated in the order shown.
Flatness Calibration Considerations
Before starting gain calibration, the ADC and zeroing calibration adjustment procedures
must have been recently performed. Flatness calibration can be performed using either the
front or rear input terminals. Make sure the Front/Rear switch matches the terminal being
used.
Note:
Do not turn off the instrument during gain or flatness calibration.
This may cause
the current function of the calibration memory to be lost.
Gain calibration
The instrument does gain calibration for calculation and memory of each input value. The
gain constant is calculated from the calibration value entered for the calibration command
and by automatic measurement during calibration.
Most measurement functions and ranges have gain calibration procedures, and calibration
should be performed for each function in the order shown.
