4. Take out the frozen food.
5. Unscrew the defrost drain cap in the
base of the freezer anti-clockwise to
drain the defrost water.

6. To accelerate defrosting, place a bowl of
hot, but not boiling, water in the freezer.
7. Place a bowl under the defrost drain (8)
to catch escaping defrost water.
8. Unscrew the cap from the defrost water
drain anti-clockwise.

9. Leave the lid open during defrosting.
The defrosting time depends on the thick-
ness of the ice layer. Experience shows
that you can start to clean the chest
freezer after approximately one hour.
10. Carefully scrape off any stubborn ice
with the plastic scraper (9).
11. Wipe the interior with warm rinsing wa-
ter.
12. Clean the door seal (see chapter "Check
and clean the cover seals" on page
EN-16).
13. After cleaning, thoroughly rub everything
dry, including the door. Ventilate
everything for a short time.
14. Screw the cap back into the defrost drain
at the base of the chest freezer.
15. Close the defrost drain with the cap.
16. Insert the mains plug back into the socket
and turn the temperature controller to “6”.
17. Once a temperature of -18 °C is
reached, you can put your frozen food
back in the freezer again. Set the tem-
perature controller to the desired cooling
capacity.
