Initial freeze / Quick freeze
Set to ‘Quick freeze’,
– to pre-cool the freezer before freezing
foodstuffs for the first time.
– if you are freezing more than the maximum
specified freezing capacity of foodstuffs.
– if you would like to freeze the foodstuffs as
quickly as possible and with minimal im-
pact.
You can set the duration for the ‘Quick freeze’
function (freezing time). The preset freezing
time is 6 hours. You can increase the freezing
time manually in increments of one hour and
up to 48 hours.
The appliance will operate at the lowest tem-
perature (–24 °C) for the preset freezing time.
Once the freezing time has elapsed, the ap-
pliance automatically switches back to the
original temperature.
1. Press and hold the ‘Quick freeze’ but-
ton (1) for approximately 3 seconds.
The ‘Quick freeze’ display (3) lights up
and the freezing time display (2) shows a
flashing ‘6’.
2. You then have 3 seconds to increase the
freezing time by pressing the ‘Increase
temperature’ button (4).
If you do not press a button during those
3 seconds, the appliance will accept the
value flashing in the display. The display
shows –24 °C.
3. Once the temperature in the freezer is
–18 °C (check with a freezer thermome-
ter), you can store food that has already
been frozen in the freezer compartment.
4. Fresh food can be stored once the tem-
perature reaches
−
22 °C. The tempera-
ture in the freezer will rise temporarily.
5. After 24 hours, the goods are frozen to
the core.
• To switch off the ‘Quick freeze’ function,
press and hold down the ‘Quick freeze’
button (1) for approximately 3 seconds.
The ‘Quick freeze’ display disappears and
the initial temperature is displayed again.
Organising the appliance parts
The freezer drawers (13), (10), (12) and (14)
as well as the glass shelves (16) can be taken
out and rearranged if necessary.
The door shelves (18), the ice cube maker (9)
and the ice cube container (11) can also be
removed.
You will achieve the most efficient use of
energy if you combine the freezer drawers,
glass shelves and door shelves as shown in
the diagram on page EN-4.
Removing the shelves
• Pull the freezer drawers, the ice cube
maker and the ice cube container forward
and remove them completely.
• Lift the glass shelves gently from the front
and remove them completely.
• Lift the door shelves up and take them
out.
Inserting the shelves
• Place the freezer drawers in the new po-
sition.
• Insert the glass shelves into the side
brackets and slide them all the way back.
• Insert the door shelf from above.
• Set the ice cube maker and the ice cube
container back in the glass shelf (17).
Door alarm
To avoid an excessive loss of cooling, you will
hear a beeping noise when the freezer door
has been open for more than 2 minutes.
• Close the freezer door or press any but-
ton to cancel the door alarm.
