Before getting started
• Read chapter “Safety“ from page EN-4, in
particular the safety instructions.
• Set up and connect the appliance as de-
scribed in chapter “Before starting to use
the appliance“ from page EN-21.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the refrigerating appliance has been
transported horizontally, lubricant from
the compressor may make its way into
the cooling circuit.

Allow the refrigerating appliance to
stand upright for 2 hours before start-
up. The lubricant will fl ow back into
the compressor during this time.
Switching on
1. Insert the mains plug in an easily accessi-
ble socket (see “Technical specifications”
on page EN-32).
The appliance is switched on.
– The compressor starts to work, the re-
frigerant flows through the pipes and a
quiet humming sound can be heard.
– All indicators will illuminate on the dis-
play for a few seconds.
– A few seconds later, the previously se-
lected temperature and operating mode
will light up.
2. If the appliance makes worrying noises,
check the solid base and remove any ob-
jects that may be on top of the appliance.
The appliance is checked for func-
tionality before being delivered. The
most recently made settings are
retained.
Operation
Switching off
1. Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
The compressor is switched off. The appli-
ance no longer refrigerates.
2. Empty the appliance and clean it (see
“Care and maintenance” on page EN-19).
3. Leave the appliance door slightly open to
prevent mould from forming.
Door alarm
The energy consumption and the tempera-
ture inside the appliance can increase if the
door is opened often or for long periods of
time. To avoid an excessive loss of cooling,
you will hear a beeping noise when the door
has been open longer than 2 minutes.
• Close the open door.

• Press the (8) button of the alarm function.
The “Alarm” function automatically
activates when the freezer is switched
on.
