

2. Place the landing gear block in the wing. Use a

pencil to transfer the locations for the mounting screws onto

the landing gear rails.

Note

: The landing gear block and our suggested

retracts use the same mounting location to make the

installation of retracts at a later date easier.



3. Remove the block from the wing. Use a drill

and 3/32-inch (2.5mm) drill bit to drill the holes for the

mounting screws. Make sure to place the drill bit as far as

possible in the drill chuck to help prevent drilling through

the top of the wing.



4. Place 2–3 drops of thin CA in each of the holes to

harden the surrounding wood. This will help prevent the

screws from vibrating loose.

5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 to prepare the remaining

landing gear mount for the landing gear block.

6. Use a 3mm x 5mm setscrew to secure the main

landing gear wire in the landing gear block. Make sure to

use threadlock on the setscrew to prevent it from vibrating

loose. Use the included 1.5mm hex wrench to tighten the

setscrew on the flat that has been pre-ground on the landing

gear wire. Assemble both the left and right assemblies at this

time.



7. Use a flat file to make a 1/4-inch (6mm) wide flat

area on the end of the landing gear wire. Create a second flat

on the wire that is 7/8-inch (22mm) from the end of the wire.



8. Place a drop of light machine oil on the axle so the

wheel can roll freely.
