Chair with occupant
Follow any further instructions concerning wheelchair transport. In the Netherlands, we
use the Code Veilig Vervoer Rolstoelinzittenden (VVR), which is the Dutch code for
safe transport of wheelchair occupants.
1.
Make sure the parking brake is applied when the wheelchair is inside the vehicle.
2.
Close the safety belt(s) of the taxi.
3.
Install the taxi-mounting set.
Warning!
The wheelchair occupant may only be transported while seated in the
wheelchair, if:
The car or taxi has been specially equipped for this, AND
the taxi-mounting set has been installed, AND
the user is properly strapped in using the safety belts of the car or
taxi.
Warning!
A seat belt on a wheelchair only serves to provide support. It must not
be used as a car seat belt.
Warning!
Only pick up the wheelchair by the frame parts, never by the arm or leg
rests or the seat.
The wheelchair has been fitted with permanent mounting points for taxi mounting to the
main frame.
For the proper way of mounting to the car or taxi: see the instructions of the taxi-
mounting system concerned (e.g. the delta clamping system or the four-point mounting
system).
