DAMPER:

The Foot Switch will hold or “damp” notes while it is pressed.

SUSTAIN:

The Foot Switch will add a Sustain (key release) envelope to Manual Drawbar registrations.

PEDAL TO LOWER:

The Foot Switch will turn the Pedal To Lower coupler “ON” and “OFF..”

BASS 1C - BASS 3C

The Foot Switch will play a Pedal note from “1C”  to “ 3”C” or a span of 25 notes.

P. CHORD CLOSE, OPEN

Triggers the Prochord function, closed or opened voicing.

  FOOT CONTROLLER 2 - MODE (G)

This allows you to set the function controlled by the device connected to the CTRL 2 jack.

The available options are the same for as “FOOT CONTROLLER” 1

Foot Switch ON EXP. PEDAL - MODE (G)

This allows you to set the Foot Switch function for the Foot Switch on Hammond Expres-

sion Pedals  EXP-100F and EXP-250.

u

 EXPRESSION

  EXPRESSION - SOURCE (G)

This allows you to set the source of Expression control.

EXP. PEDAL:

  For using an Expression Pedal.

MIDI:

For using Expression information received at the UPPER Keyboard Channel.

BOTH:

Both sources above are received. The last value of each takes priority.

  EXPRESSION - MONITOR

This allows you to display the current Expression Value.  “0” is minimum Expression (no

audible sound) and “127” is maximum Expression. This can be a troubleshooting aid if you

either don’t hear any sound or can’t change the volume using a connected Expression Pedal.

  EXPRESSION - MINIMUM LEVEL (G)

This allows you to set the volume at minimum expression.
The setting range is “OFF,” “-40dB” to “0dB.” At “OFF,” the instrument is silent when the

Expression Pedal is at minimum.  The other values represent the lowest volume that will be

heard at the Pedal’s minimum position.

EXPRESSION - LIMIT LOW FREQUENCY (G)

EXPRESSION - LIMIT HIGH FREQUENCY (G)

This allows you to set the amount of Low or High Frequency to remain, when the Expres-

sion Pedal is set at minimum.
The setting range is “OFF,” “-40dB” to “0dB.” At “OFF” the sound totally disappears, but

at other value points the set value is retained, even if the Expression Pedal is at minimum.

  EXPRESSION - GAIN (S)

This allows you to adjust the range of a connected Expression Pedal.  You can select from “0”

through “126%;” however, the amount of actual audible change may differ depending on

the specific Expression Pedal used.  Use this Advanced Feature to obtain the desired response

from your particular pedal.

  EXPRESSION - CURVE (S)

This allows you to adjust the “curve,” or change of expression value corresponding to the

angle of the Expression Pedal when depressed.  The figure on the right shows the options

you may select.

NOTE:  The parameters indicated (S) are System Parameters, and are common to all

Patches.

u

 GLIDE

  GLIDE - RANGE (P)

This allows you to set the bend range of pitch by semi-tone. Setting range is -24 to +12.

  GLIDE - TIME (P)

This allows you to set the time from the start of glide to reach the pitch set at (11). The set-

ting range is 0.1 to 5.0 seconds.

 EXPRESSION LIMIT

One of the characteristics of the human ear is
that,  when volume decresases, high and low
frequencies becomes difficult to hear.
On the XK-5, compensation is applied to high
and low frequencies so that they will appear to
be at a contant level at low volume.

It sounds

CLOSE OPEN

Played as

Lower

Upper

 ProChord

ProChord™is a unique feature which allows
you to play professional right-hand harmony
while playing a single-note melody. The har-
monization applied to the melody is deter-
mined by the chord played by the left hand.
When notes or chords are played on a Lower
Manual and a note is played on an Upper Man-
ual, the note represented by the key played on
the Upper Manual is heard along with a scored
harmony pattern which sounds according to
the Chord Root and Chord Type selected by
the notes played on the Lower Manual. The
Chord Root is the letter name of the chord (F,
A, B=, etc) while the Chord Type is the denomi-
nation of the chord (Major, Minor, etc.)

NOTE:  The parameter indicated by (P) is a

Patch Parameter, and can be recorded to

each Patch.  (G) indicates a Global Parame-

ter, which is  recorded upon being set and

is common to all Patches.
