3.
Finger tighten the nut. Use a 9/16" wrench to hold the adapter fitting and a second 9/16" wrench
to tighten the nut 1¼ turns.
Note: Never tighten the tubing nut without holding the hex portion of the tubing adapter.
Test the sample connections
Make sure that all the tubing connections are correct. Switch the sample on and gradually increase
flow through the instrument. Make sure that no leaks exist. If leaks exist, tighten the connections in
small increments. If a leak continues, loosen the fitting. Make sure that the ferrule is correctly
installed and the fitting contains no foreign material. Tighten the fitting again.

Wire the instrument
The instrument is designed to be hard-wired. A ½" NPT conduit opening (
7
/
8
" diameter) is provided
for electrical connection. Use the correct sealing hardware to keep the NEMA 4 rating.
Note: Do not apply power to the heater until sample flow has been established and sample is in the heater tubing.
Sample must be flowing through the heater at all times when the heater is on.
Requirements for the power cord installation
To use a power cord for the connection to AC mains, make sure that the:
• Cord is less than 3 m (9 ft) in length
• Cord wire gauge is less than 16 AWG
• Outer power cord insulation is suitable for end use location
• Cord has a 3-circuit cord plug that has a ground connection that is necessary for a supply
connection
• Cord wires have the correct size of spade tongue terminals on the connection end. The terminals
must have insulated barrels.
• Cord has a cord cable gland that has the correct rating for the installation location. The cable gland
must attach the cord and seal to the enclosure to keep environmental ratings within specifications.
• Cord plug serves as the power supply disconnect. Make sure that it is close to the instrument and
easily accessible by the operator.
