No display on the configuration terminal
Symptom
The configuration terminal does not have display when the device is powered on.
Solution
To resolve the problem:
1.
Verify that the power system is operating correctly.
2.
Verify that the console cable is connected correctly and the connected serial port is the same as
the port configured on the terminal.
3.
Verify that the terminal is configured correctly:

Baud rate
—9,600.

Data bits
—8.
{
Parity
—None.
{
Stop bits
—1.
{
Flow control
—None.
{
Emulation
—VT100.
4.
Verify that the console cable is in good condition.
5.
If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.
Garbled display on the configuration terminal
Symptom
The configuration terminal has garbled display when the device is powered on.
Solution
To resolve the problem:
1.
Verify that the
Data bits
field is set to
8
for the terminal. If the
Data bits
field is set to
5
or
6
, the
terminal displays garbled characters.
2.
If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.
No response from the serial console port
Symptom
The console port on the device is connected to a serial port on a configuration terminal. No boot
information is displayed on the configuration terminal when the device starts up or restarts up.
