Step 1:
Check that the PGND wire has been properly connected to the ground.
Step 2:
Make sure that the power switch is in the OFF position. Connect one end of
the DC power cable to the power socket on the rear panel of the equipment chassis
and the other end to the –48V DC power supply.
Warning:
Read the label on the cable carefully before connecting the DC power cable. Thus,
you will not make mistakes.
Step 3:
Place the power switch to the ON position.
Step 4:
Check that the POWER LED on the front panel is ON, which means the power
cable is correctly connected.
3.5 Connecting the Console Terminal
The SecPath provides an EIA/TIA-232 asynchronous serial console interface,
through which you can configure the SecPath.
For the console interface attributes, refer to Section 1.4.
I. Console Cable
The console cable is an 8-core shielded cable.
At one end of the cable is a crimped RJ-45 connector that is to be plugged into the
console interface of the SecPath; at the other end of the cable are a DB-9 (female)
connector and a DB-25 (female) connector.
You can plug either of them into the serial port on the console terminal as needed.
