APPENDIX A: EXTERNAL INTERFACE
Detailed
Description of
External Interface:
15-Pin "D"
Connector
PIN 1 ALARM INPUT
Accepts a contact closure to Ground or TTL level signal. The closure or TTL LOW
level input activates the alarm mode.
PIN 2 ALARM OUTPUT
Output is driven to +12V and can drive 10 mA. when the alarm mode is activated.
PIN 3 ONE SHOT INPUT
Accepts a contact closure to Ground or a TTL level signal. The contact closure or
TTL LOW level Input activates the One-Shot recording, provided the recorder is
in the Record mode and the 00 hr speed is selected.
PIN 4 REC OUT
When the recorder is in any mode except Record mode, the output is 0V. When in
Record mode, the output supplies 10 mA at 12V.
PIN 5 +12 VDC OUT
Capable of supplying 50 mA Max through a 100 mA fuse.
PIN 6 WARNING OUT
Tape transport malfunction. Driven Low when a malfunction occurs, otherwise
+5V. Pulled up to +5V through a 4.7K ý resistor.
PIN 7 LOW TAPE OUT
When in Record mode and about 6% of the tape remains before the end of the video
tape, the output becomes active (0V) and can sink 10 mA of current. When inactive
(+5V), it is pulled to +5V through a 4.7K ý resistor.
PIN 8 REC CHECK IN
Accepts a contact closure to Ground or TTL level signal. The closure or TTL LOW
level activates the Rec Check mode provided the recorder is in the Record mode.
PIN 9 TIMER OUTPUT
Output follows the levels defined in the Timer menu. See Timer Program section.
When ON (0V), can sink 10mA of current. When OFF (5V), is pulled to 5V through
a 4.7K ý resistor.
