1. SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT
• Read the user and installation manual carefully before installing the water
leak guard, and keep the manual safe in case you need it again in the future.
• The Vatette Water leak guard has principally been designed for use in tap
water systems (0–60°C) in single family residences.
• The Vatette Water leak guard has been designed to protect against leaks
from the tap water system.
• The water leak guard must be installed by a fitter skilled in heating,
ventilation and sanitation installations and in accordance with the installation
instructions.
• Make sure that the valve unit is fitted before connecting current to the
water leak guard.
• The valve unit and its component parts must not be removed when the tap
water system is pressurised.
2. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The Vatette Water leak guard continuously monitors the tap water system in the building and detects
both dripping and flowing leaks. The water leak guard also registers concealed leaks that risk cau-
sing major damage before they are detected.
The water leak guard cannot prevent leaks from occurring, but it does provide effective protection
that helps limit the extent of the leak. When a leak is detected, the water leak guard triggers an
alarm and shuts off the water supply; the display shows the cause of the alarm, facilitating trou-
bleshooting and supporting the choice of appropriate action.
The Vatette Water leak guard is a “self-learning unit”, which means that it continuously collects,
adapts and makes use of the conditions that apply in each individual tap water system.The water leak
guard is automatic and requires minimal operation.
NB
• The Vatette Water leak guard must be installed by a qualified heating, ventilation and sanitation
fitter.
• The Vatette Water leak guard has principally been designed for use on tap water systems in single
family residences; in other types of property with extremely large tap water systems the functionality
may be affected, and manual adjustments may have to be made. If you have any doubts, contact Vil-

• A water leak guard is intended to register and limit water leaks. This means that there will always
be some leakage before the water leak guard triggers an alarm and cuts off the water given that the
system cannot initially differentiate between a leak and conscious tapping of the water. The extent of
this initial leak may vary, depending in part on the information that the water leak guard has collec-
ted about water use in the household. In the event of faults or defects in the water leak guard, contact
your dealer immediately.
• In the event of a power outage, the ball valve will maintain its position (open/closed).
