Installation and Use
Prior to installation, plan your system:
1. PFAS equipment must be selected and deemed compatible with SkyMast by a Competent Person.
2. Eliminate or minimize all risk of swing fall.
3. Determine desired location for anchor; ensure location is free of debris, rot, decay, cracking, and hazardous
materials. NEVER install on gable ends, fascias, rake ends, overhangs, bottom cords, collar boards, spliced
sections, or substrate incapable of withstanding application minimum loads.
4. Ensure selected SkyMast Skyhook Anchor is compatible with pitch of installation location. SkyMast Skyhook
Anchor MUST be used in combination with SkyMast. SkyMast Skyhook Anchor MUST be Part # 00315, 00325,
00335, or 00345.
SkyMast Skyhook Installation:
MINIMUM substrate requirements:
•
Wood: 3/4” CDX or better.
•
Metal: 20g or thicker.
•
Concrete: 2,000 p.s.i. or better.
SkyMast Skyhook Anchor MUST install flush against substrate.
SkyMast Skyhook Anchors may be placed a MAXIMUM 16’ apart.
SkyMast Skyhook Anchors MUST be placed a MINIMUM 10’ from all leading edges of fall hazards.
1. Place SkyMast Skyhook Anchor over selected roof ridge. Anchor must lie flush with substrate.
2. Ensure all fasteners are those supplied by Guardian Fall Protection, or are deemed compatible by a
Competent Person.
• For installations on wood and metal, use (18) #14x10 2” screws or better. NEVER use nails.
• For installations on concrete, use (18) concrete fasteners that have been selected and deemed compatible
with SkyMast Skyhook Anchors by a Competent Person.
