ELTRAL KS 30/40 EASY
9 Electrical installation
DANGER
Risk of electric shock
The electrical installation on site must be performed by an qualified electrician
exclusively.
º
For electrical installations on site observe the VDE regulations (German
Electrical Engineers Association) and the requirements of the local electricity
supplier.
º
Disconnect all components from the mains before carrying out any work on
the installation or the control unit
DANGER
Risk of destroying the motor
The motor requires a 24 V DC respectively a 110/230 V AC connection (see type
label). Other voltages will destroy it.
º
Connect the motor accordingly.
º
Do not lay the motor connection cable together with a mains cable.
º
Never connect 24 V DC drives to a 230 V mains. Danger of life !
º
Low-voltage lines and power lines must be wired separately.
A two-core (24 V) or three-core (230 V) connecting cable is required to connect the motor (see
“Technical Data”).
º
Follow the electrical connection diagram in section „16 Connection diagram“ on
º
For cable lengths, cable types and cable cross sections observe the details given in the
connection diagram and under “Technical data”.
º
Ensure that the cables are protected against being sheared, kinked or twisted. If neces-
sary use cable ducts.
º
Verify the correct terminal assignment, the supply voltage (see type label) and the
minimum and maximum ratings (see Technical data). Carefully adhere to all assembly
details given.
Depending on the variant, the drive requires either a voltage of 24 V = (direct current) or a
mains voltage of 230 V ~ (alternating current) 50 Hz. The 24 V DC variant requires a class II
mains adapter to transform the supply voltage (230 V~, 50 Hz or other) to 24 V DC; the techni-
cal specification of the adapter must correspond to the parameters indicated on the type label.
Determining the supply cable cross-section for 24 V DC
With 24 V DC, the cable cross-section must be calculated depending on the cable length. The
following table shows the cable lengths for the connection of one drive.
