The

of the shaded part .
This effect, called hot spot, will be the greater the greater the radiation incident on the rest of the cells
and the less the radiation incident on this cell due to the shadow. In an extreme case , the cell could
break due to overheating.
The use of diodes for protection or bypass reduces the risk of heating of the cells shaded, limiting
the current that the crosses and avoiding, in this way, the breakage.
