Switching the radio on and off

• Switch the radio on with the 

ON/OFF

button.

Button depressed = ON
Button not depressed = OFF

– The red LED under the display indicates that the unit is on.
– The first time you switch your radio on, the display

indicates 87,50 MHz (if the band selection switch is in FM)
or 531 KHz (if the band selection switch is in AM).

Note:  

The display indicates the frequency for about 5
seconds and then it returns to normal time indication. 

• To display the frequency, briefly press the 

DOWN/HR

or

UP/MIN

button once.

– Your unit is provided with the function 'LAST STATION

MEMORY', which means that the station that was playing
when the set was switched off will be selected again when
the tuner is switched back on.

• Adjust the volume with the rotary control 

VOLUME.

• When you want to switch the unit off, simply press the

ON/OFF

button again.

Radio reception

• Select the waveband with the switch 

FM/AM

.

Automatic tuning

• To activate automatic station search (AUTO TUNING), press

DOWN/HR

or 

UP/MIN

until the frequency display begins

'to run'; then release the button.

– The search stops as soon as a station is found and tuned to.

– Stations which are received with a weak field strength may

be skipped. 
These can be tuned to manually. 

Manual tuning

• Briefly press the 

DOWN/HR

or 

UP/MIN

button to tune in

the corresponding direction in individual steps.

• If you keep the button depressed, you can rapidly scan large

frequency ranges. When you release the button, AUTO 
TUNING is automatically switched to.

• If you briefly press one of the 

DOWN/HR

or 

UP/MIN

buttons, manual tuning is automatically switched to.

Note:  

After tuning to a station, the display indicates its
frequency for about 5 seconds and then it returns to
normal time indication. 

Antennas

The wire antenna at the back of the set is used for FM
reception.
• Position the wire antenna so that optimum reception is

obtained.

For AM reception there is a built-in ferrite rod antenna.
• Rotating the unit slightly can improve reception.

Station memory

There are 10 memory locations available for storing stations in
each band.

• Tune to the station you want to store .
• Press 

MEMO/SET

.

– 'MEMORY' lights up on the display.

• Press the number (

1…10

) you want to assign the station to.

• If you want to assign the station to memory location

numbers 6 to 10, press 

MEMO/SET

, then 

SHIFT

, then the

appropriate number button.

– 'MEMORY' disappears from the display and the number you

have pressed appears to the right of the frequency.

Calllng up a stored station

• To call up a stored station, simply press the corresponding

button.

• If you call up a station which is assigned to memory

location numbers 6 to 10, first press 

SHIFT

, then the

appropriate number button.

– The unit switches to the station and the display indicates the

frequency, the band and the memory location number.

'LAST STATION MEMORY'

LAST STATION MEMORY means that the unit 'remembers' the
last station that was tuned to. 
This function ensures that the station which was selected
before the radio was switched off is automatically selected
again when your radio is switched back on.
